1. Who collects information
[PLACEHOLDER: LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [PLACEHOLDER: MAILING ADDRESS],[PLACEHOLDER: privacy@example.com], [PLACEHOLDER: PHONE NUMBER] operates Little Wisp and is responsible for information collected from children. The service providers below process information on our behalf and on our instructions:
- DeepInfra (speech-to-text)
- OpenRouter (routing to [PLACEHOLDER: UPSTREAM MODEL PROVIDER]) (answer matching)
- [PLACEHOLDER: HOSTING PROVIDER] (hosting, database and audio storage)
2. What we collect from children, and how
Little Wisp is an audio story that asks a child what should happen next. When the story asks a question:
- The microphone in the browser records a short clip while the story waits for an answer, and stops when the child goes quiet or after a few seconds of silence.
- The clip is sent to our server and then to our speech-to-text provider, which returns the words it heard.
- The words, together with the two to four choices the story offers, are sent to our answer-matching provider, which returns the matching choice or “none”.
- The choice taken is saved as story progress under the parent's account. The clip and the words are not stored by us and are released from memory once the step is complete, including when a step fails.
That is the only information we collect from a child. We do not collect a child's name, nickname, age, date of birth, school, address, photograph, video, voice signature, contacts or location, and we do not create a child profile. Little Wisp does not let a child post content, message anyone, or make purchases.
3. How we use it
- To select the next part of the story from the child's answer.
- To save and resume the story under the parent's account.
- To keep a record of service use for cost control, containing no content.
We do not use a child's information for advertising, marketing, profiling, product recommendations, or to train or improve models. The story itself is fully written and approved by a person before publication; nothing a child says is used to generate story content.
4. Whether we share it
Only with the service providers named above, only for the step each performs, and only the information that step requires. We send the audio clip with no name, account or story attached. We do not sell children's information or share it with advertisers. We may disclose information where the law requires it or to protect a child's safety.
Our providers process information in [PLACEHOLDER: PROCESSING LOCATIONS]. See section 6 of the privacy notice.
5. Parental consent
Before a child's answers are processed, we ask the parent to review this notice and give consent, verified by[PLACEHOLDER: VERIFIABLE PARENTAL CONSENT METHOD]. We record who consented, when, to which version of this notice, and how it was verified. [PLACEHOLDER: LEGAL BASIS AND ANY REVIEWED EXCEPTION, AS DETERMINED BY COUNSEL]
If we make a material change to what we collect from children or how we use or share it, we will ask for consent again before the change applies to your child.
6. Your rights as a parent
At any time, you can:
- Review the information we hold that relates to your child: the story progress and usage records under your account.
- Delete it, together with your account if you wish.
- Refuse further collection or use by withdrawing consent. Little Wisp will then stop processing your child's answers.
- Ask questions about this notice or our practices.
Email [PLACEHOLDER: privacy@example.com] from the address on your account, or write to the postal address above.
